Serial LED Strip pt3

Here’s a crude mockup of one particular idea I’ve had in mind for the serial LED strips. One particular idea would be to use this as a network traffic visualization.

This was all done in Processing which I have to say, this being the first time I’ve used it, is really pretty awesome. Thanks to Phil for turning me onto it.

    Hey, great thinking! I have been looking to see of there’s a such thing as an “addressable LED” and from what I can see, there isn’t, but the idea has already been claimed (Darn! There goes the new Patent!) So I started searching on how to add a serial addressing to a LED strip and low & behold I found your blog posting here!

    What Chip are you using on your strips?

    I’ve just been thinking it would be useful to add a strip of leds with midi input to the top of my keyboard, to help learning to play. Googling to find out how i’d go about it led me here. Will you be selling the strips?.
